Love spaceship battles? Do space battle scenes in your favorite sci-fi or fantasy franchises often leave you wanting more? Curious whether the dreadnought from a certain awesome video game could beat the battlecruiser from a beloved movie? Stage your own battle to find out with ShipBasher!
ShipBasher is a sandbox / strategy game that allows you to design a spaceship any way you like, whether to replicate an existing design or bring your own concept to life; and to pit any number of spaceships in a real-time battle against one another in 3D. As much as possible is intended to be customizable, from the laws of physics to weapon ranges and even the 3D models for the spaceships' parts.
Players will be able to share spaceship designs, create and share levels, and create mod packs with new module types. The only limits will be one's imagination and hardware capabilities!
No downloads are available yet, but stay tuned for updates!

also, the ships in the banner pic of the project looks questionable

I suppose so. I based them on the Project Daedalus designs but now that you mention it I can kind of see how it might be misinterpreted.
I do have some better models and footage now so perhaps it is time for a new banner.
uhm...eh-excuse me...is this game still under development? When will this release?
Development was put on hold for about two years while I was in graduate school but has resumed and continues, slowly. I don't have a release date but neither have I abandoned it so here's hoping things work out ^^;
